Children's outdoor clothing for schools, preschools and nurseries
Government guidelines accross the UK are placing an increasing emphasis on outdoor learning, particularly in the Early Years and Foundation Stage. Schools, preschools and nurseries are implementing outdoor programmes with great success, and as a result look to equip the children with functional and durable waterproof clothing.

At VikingKids, we have first hand experience of the important role of quality outdoor clothing in child development and education. Our aim is to give British and Irish children the same opportunities to play outdoors in comfort as in Scandinavia, the home of the Forest School concept. We specialise in rainwear and waterproofs for children up to 8 years old, however on request we can also provide wet weather gear for older children and even adults.

In January 2008 we were selected by the Oxford Excellence Cluster Forest School project to equip 10 schools with waterproof jackets and dungarees. We have supplied nurseries and schools accross the country with outdoor clothing, from small groups to entire schools

• practical: our jackets, dungarees and trousers are easy for children to put on and take off themselves
• adaptable: the dungarees especially offer a large degree of size flexibility thanks to the adjustable shoulder straps and side poppers. For schools and nurseries, we would recommend dungarees rather than trousers, as the same pair can be worn by children of very different sizes. Also, as sailors and fishermen well know, dungarees offer more warmth and better protection against the elements!
• easy-care: our clothes can be washed at 40 °C, although rinsing and drip-drying is usually enough
• visible: a range of bright colours to choose from and prominent reflective stripes ensure that each group can be identified at a glance. Some schools prefer a mix of colours, perhaps colour-coding the sizes, others select one colour, often matching school colours

Buying process
We aim to make the process as simple as possible. Just contact us for a quote - including possible bulk discounts - and an order form to enable you to raise a purchase order. We can also accept Local Authority purchase orders. For bulk orders from schools, nurseries and other educational institutions, we're happy to supply samples of the clothes on a "purchase or return" basis, to ensure that the correct mix of sizes is selected.

Once we receive your signed purchase order, we aim to deliver your clothing within a couple of weeks, subject to availability (a few days for in-stock orders), unless you specify otherwise. All delivery costs are included in the price.
